While we are more "connected" than ever through traditional social media, these platforms often lack the safety, intentionality, and focus on genuine relationship-building needed to combat loneliness. This creates a gap where women feel increasingly disconnected and struggle to find safe spaces to build real-world bonds.
Sisterly addresses this disconnect with a women-only social platform designed to turn simple introductions into lasting friendships. Our app uses smart, interest-based matching and integrated event-creation tools to help women move beyond one-time interactions and establish consistent community habits. Built on a foundation of safety, Sisterly utilizes identity verification and a closed ecosystem to ensure a secure environment where women can meet with confidence. By prioritizing shared values and location-based connections, we empower women to reclaim their social lives and build the deep, meaningful support networks they need to thrive in any city.
Role (Volunteer, unpaid): UX/UI Designer
Role Description:
As a UX/UI Designer Intern, you will help us make the app more intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing. You will work closely with the team to identify usability issues and redesign key parts of the app to improve the overall user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the current app design and user flow
- Identify areas where users may face difficulties
- Create wireframes, user flows, and UI design mockups
- Improve the clarity, consistency, and usability of the app
- Design user-friendly and modern interfaces
- Collaborate with developers and other team members
- Bring creative ideas to enhance the overall user experience
What we’re looking for:
- Interest in UX/UI design and mobile apps
- Basic knowledge of design tools (Figma is a plus)
- Willingness to learn and improve
- Creativity and user-focused thinking
- No professional experience required — passion is enough
Time Commitment: Volunteer 10+ hours per week for 3-4 weeks remotely 💻
