About the Role
Imagine having three things: the opportunity to shape the visual foundation of a fast-growing EdTech product, the autonomy to design and maintain a scalable component system, and the ability to collaborate closely with product and engineering to bring those designs to life. If this combination excites you, you may be the perfect fit for our UX Designer role.
As a UX Designer at Breakout, you’ll play a key role in elevating our design system and product experience. You’ll create components and variants in Figma, ensure clean and consistent UI, and work hand in hand with the product and engineering team to maintain excellence in how our design system is implemented and scaled.
What You’ll Do
Design Systems & Components
- Build and maintain robust, reusable Figma components and variants
- Define standards and patterns that ensure consistency across the product
Collaborate with Engineering
- Partner closely with engineers to maintain a shared design system
- Ensure smooth handoff and clear documentation for scalable implementation
Deliver Exceptional UI
- Produce clean, intuitive, and visually cohesive interfaces
- Uphold visual consistency across pages, features, and flows
Maintain Organized Design Workflows
- Keep Figma files structured, labeled, and up to date
- Create clear documentation and naming conventions for all components
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience as a UX or Product Designer working with design systems
- Proven ability to build and maintain Figma components and variants
- Strong understanding of design systems and how they integrate with engineering workflows
- A clean, modern UI aesthetic and a portfolio that reflects it
- Exceptional organizational skills in Figma, including file structure and documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with engineering teams
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving needs
