About the Role
Deliverance Charities is dedicated to developing, inspiring, and empowering individuals through storytelling, community support, and pathways to economic independence. We are looking for a UX Designer who understands how powerful stories can be—and how the experience around those stories can transform a reader’s connection to hope, healing, and personal growth.
In this volunteer role, you will design digital experiences that help readers easily access, engage with, and emotionally connect to our fiction stories, short episodes, and transformational narratives. Your work ensures that every visitor who encounters our content feels guided, supported, and inspired.
Responsibilities
- Shape the overall reading journey for our stories and short episodes across the website and email platforms.
- Create simple, intuitive layouts that highlight emotional storytelling and encourage deeper engagement.
- Improve navigation, readability, and flow for story-based content and landing pages.
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and the digital marketing team to ensure stories are presented clearly, beautifully, and in alignment with our mission.
- Review reader feedback and propose improvements that support accessibility and user comfort.
- Help refine the visual and interactive elements that make readers want to stay, explore, and subscribe.
Work Environment:
Our team is collaborative and supportive, using tools Google Gmail, Chat and Space to stay connected and work efficiently.
Schedule:
• Self-determined schedule
• At least 5 hours a week, anything more is appreciated
• Monthly updates and check-ins submitted via email or chat.
