Role Description

This is a part-time, remote role for a UI/UX Designer & Frontend Implementer. The designer-engineer will be responsible for architecting and building the operator-facing interface that powers Sentinai’s real-time intelligence platform. Responsibilities include designing mission-critical UX flows for live video ingestion, alerting, mapping, and multimodal situational awareness, as well as implementing high-performance frontend systems. The role involves wireframing, prototyping, establishing design systems, and implementing production-ready components using React/Next.js/Tailwind. This position requires close collaboration with backend, AI, and defense operations teams to create a clean, reliable interface for high-pressure environments where clarity and speed are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in React and modern frontend development
• Experience with TypeScript, Next.js (or similar React frameworks), and component-based architectures
• Hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS or other utility-first CSS frameworks
• Familiarity with state management and data fetching (React Query, Zustand, Redux, or similar)
• Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful and/or gRPC APIs
• Understanding of real-time/front-end performance patterns (WebSockets, SSE, polling, virtualization, memoization)
• Strong knowledge of frontend performance optimization for high-throughput, low-latency interfaces
• Security-first mindset, with familiarity in authentication, authorization, and handling sensitive data on the client
• Prior experience in defense, government, security, or mission-critical dashboards preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or related field preferred; portfolio/GitHub required
