About LookoutLookout is a community-driven safety platform designed to empower women and urban commuters with real-time, data-backed insights. Our mission is to make cities feel safer by combining crowdsourced reports, open data, and predictive mapping into one trusted app. Recognized with the Greatest Social Impact Award at the NYU Tandon Capstone Pitch, we are currently in the prototyping phase as a pre-revenue, student-founded startup.

Role Description
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our early team and help shape the Lookout experience from the ground up. This role is currently an unpaid, early-contributor position, ideal for someone seeking hands-on startup experience and portfolio-building opportunities.As our designer, you will:Lead the design of our landing website and create a cohesive digital identity.Design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for the Lookout mobile app (iOS/Android).Collaborate closely with the founding team and engineers to ensure a user-friendly, visually engaging experience.Help define the product’s design system, branding, and overall look and feel.
What We’re Looking ForExperience with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, or similar).Ability to translate user needs and research into intuitive design solutions.A strong eye for clean, modern design and attention to detail.Interest in community-driven, impact-focused technology.
