About Host Guest
Host Guest is a Georgia-based startup redefining student housing in the U.S. by connecting international and out-of-state students with verified host families. Our platform helps students find safe, affordable, and welcoming homes while creating meaningful cultural connections.
After completing our MVP web platform in October 2025, we are now entering the product refinement and app design phase. We’re looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer who can elevate our digital experience across web and mobile, guiding both structure and visual identity as we prepare for beta testing and investor onboarding.
This is a hands-on creative leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments, understands product-market fit, and can design with both empathy and execution in mind.
Position Overview
You will lead the design refinement of our MVP platform and design the first version of our mobile app. You’ll define user journeys, improve usability, and ensure our brand experience feels intuitive, trustworthy, and consistent across devices.
You’ll work directly with the founder, marketing team, and developers to translate real user feedback into refined, scalable product design decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and refine the existing MVP website design and user flow.
- Lead the UX and UI design for the upcoming Host Guest mobile app.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design systems that support product scalability.
- Improve overall usability, accessibility, and conversion flow (sign-up, verification, messaging, booking).
- Collaborate with developers to ensure design accuracy during implementation.
- Conduct rapid user testing to validate design decisions and measure improvements.
- Develop a consistent design language that supports both marketing and product.
- Document design systems, color palettes, typography, and interaction standards.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in UI/UX design for responsive web and mobile platforms.
- Strong background in Figma, prototyping, and design systems.
- Proven experience working in startups or fast-moving environments.
- Ability to turn user research and feedback into actionable design improvements.
- Deep understanding of information architecture, usability, and accessibility principles.
- Solid collaboration skills and comfort working directly with product managers and engineers.
- Experience with Laravel front-end integration or working closely with full-stack developers is a plus.
