C2 client, a leader in energy efficiency, demand response and other distributed energy resources, seeks a Temporary UI Designer to support the team during an upcoming leave. This contract role will focus on designing and optimizing eCommerce sites on BigCommerce and Adobe Commerce. The UI Designer will be responsible for creating user-friendly, consistent, and accessible experiences while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Start Date:
At least 2 weeks post-offer (to allow for background/drug screening), ASAP preferred
Duration:
Contract, both full-time or part-time hours
Location:
Remote (availability during business hours preferred, asynchronous work acceptable)
Compensation:
$30-35/hr. as a W2 employee of C2

Job Description
This is a collaborative opportunity to join an established team and step into a key role during a teammate’s temporary leave. The UI Designer will support multiple marketplace projects, help with the transition from BigCommerce to Adobe Commerce, and ensure user interfaces are both effective and visually consistent.
Responsibilities
- Support ongoing UI design needs across multiple eCommerce marketplaces
- Assist with the transition from BigCommerce to Adobe Commerce
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, adhering to existing design processes while advocating for best practices in a patient and constructive manner
- Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes aligned with business goals and user needs
- Partner with developers to ensure design intent is carried through to implementation
- Conduct testing and iterate based on user feedback and analytics
- Ensure consistency in branding, accessibility, and responsive design
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience as a UI Designer, preferably in eCommerce
- Hands-on experience with BigCommerce and/or Adobe Commerce (Magento)
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and usability best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Patient, adaptable, and able to balance adherence to process with thoughtful innovation
