We are seeking a versatile and user-focused Technical Writer with a strong understanding of UI/UX principles. This role is a unique blend of technical communication and user experience design. You will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly content that is seamlessly integrated into our product interfaces and supporting documentation. You will act as the bridge between our product's functionality and the user's understanding, ensuring that our language empowers users and enhances their overall experience.
Responsibilities
UI/UX Writing & Microcopy:Craft clear, concise, and on-brand copy for user interface components, including buttons, labels, tooltips, error messages, and empty states.Develop and write content for user onboarding flows, tutorials, and in-app feature announcements to guide users and drive adoption.Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure that copy and design work together to create an intuitive and cohesive user journey.Technical Documentation:Author, edit, and maintain comprehensive end-user documentation, including user guides, knowledge base articles, release notes, and FAQs.Translate complex technical concepts and product features into simple, easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience.Work closely with engineers and product managers to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all technical content.Content Strategy & Governance:Establish and maintain a unified content style guide, voice, and tone guidelines across all product and documentation platforms.Define and manage a consistent terminology list to be used by design, engineering, and marketing teams.Analyze user feedback and product analytics to identify areas where content can be improved to reduce user friction and support tickets.Collaboration:Actively participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and product feedback sessions to advocate for the user and the role of content in the user experience.Partner with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and Software Engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Associate degree (or equal college credits) in Technical Communication, English, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Journalism, or a related field.3+ years of experience in technical writing, content strategy, or UX writing for a software product.A strong portfolio showcasing examples of both technical documentation (e.g., user guides, API docs) and UI/UX writing (e.g., microcopy, onboarding flows).Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design principles and UI/UX best practices.Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an impeccable eye for detail, grammar, and style.Experience using documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Zendesk Guide, MadCap Flare) and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.FDA experience highly desired.Must be a US citizen and/or green card holder and be able to obtain public trust clearance.
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.Familiarity with writing API documentation for a developer audience.Experience conducting user research or usability testing.Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Markdown.Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment.
