Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer/Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing structural analysis, design, and engineering calculations for a variety of building projects including commercial, residential, and industrial structures. This role requires strong technical expertise in structural systems and proficiency with industry-standard analysis software.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and wood structures
- Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation
- Utilize structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D, RAM, or similar) to model and analyze complex structural systems
- Create and review structural drawings and specifications using CAD software
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable U.S. Building Codes and industry standards
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction phases
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed
- Participate in quality control reviews and design optimization
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in structural engineering and design
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D, RAM, or equivalent)
- Strong CAD drafting skills (AutoCAD or similar)
- Solid understanding of structural analysis principles and methodologies
- Experience designing steel, concrete, and wood structural systems
- Working knowledge of U.S. Building Codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice To Have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit Structure
- Familiarity with seismic and wind load analysis
- Experience with renovation and retrofit projects
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices
