We’re now looking for a Social Media Designer who can own the visual identity for client accounts and turn briefs into polished, on-brand content every month.
Role Overview
As a Social Media Designer, you’ll be the creative owner for assigned client accounts. You’ll translate brand guidelines and marketing goals into consistent, engaging content across social media platforms (primarily Instagram, but also other channels as needed).
You’ll partner closely with account managers, copywriters, and video editors to ensure that every post, story, and reel cover feels cohesive, on-brand, and strategically aligned.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Direction & Brand Consistency
- Develop and implement visual strategies that align with each client’s brand, goals, and campaign objectives.
- Act as the creative lead for your accounts, ensuring all design work supports the overall marketing strategy.
- Collaborate with account managers to align on content calendars, campaign themes, and priorities.
- Propose fresh, innovative concepts for campaigns, launches, and always-on content.
- Incorporate feedback quickly and professionally, iterating on designs as needed.
- Maintain and evolve visual guidelines (colors, fonts, layouts, templates) to ensure a cohesive look across all touchpoints.
- Social Media Content Creation
For each client account, you’ll typically be responsible for the following monthly scope:
Static & Feed Content
- Design 8–10 static posts per month (e.g., carousels, infographics, promotional graphics).
- Edit and retouch photos (color correction, cleanup, light compositing) to align with brand aesthetics.
Reel & Video Covers
- Create 12–15 reel covers tailored to the content, optimized for clicks and brand recognition.
Stories & Short-Form Content
- Produce around 40 stories/month per client:
- ~20 photo-based stories: using branded templates or edited photos.
- ~20 video-based stories: short, engaging, template-based story videos.
- Design reusable story templates to enable efficient, on-brand bulk story creation.
Video Enhancements
- Design overlays, lower-thirds, text treatments, and graphic elements to enhance video content.
- Work with account managers and editors to ensure video aesthetics match the brand look and feel.
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- 2–4+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer / Social Media Designer in an agency or brand environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing social media work (carousels, stories, reels, campaign creatives).
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Figma/Canva.
- Solid understanding of social media formats, best practices, and trends (especially Instagram).
- Strong sense of layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience with basic photo editing and retouching.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with account managers and other team members.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Basic motion design skills (e.g., simple animations for stories or reels using After Effects, Premiere, or similar).
- Experience working in a digital/social media agency.
- Understanding of performance creative: what tends to drive engagement, saves, clicks, etc.
