Location: Remote - South Africa
Department: Social
Reports to: Director of Social Media
About the Role:
We’re looking for a mid–senior Art Director or Designer who lives and breathes social. Someone who understands that great content is equal parts idea, craft, and cultural timing. You’ll lead visual direction for brands across social platforms, design engaging content, and occasionally edit or art direct short-form video.
You should be as comfortable concepting with a copywriter as you are designing independently — bringing sharp instincts, taste, and clarity to fast-paced creative.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the visual direction and design of social-first campaigns and always-on content.
Concept and design static, motion, and mixed-media assets for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
Collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, and account teams to craft ideas that feel native to social.
Translate larger campaign ideas into engaging social formats that tell a story in seconds.
Keep brands visually consistent while evolving them for new platforms, trends, and audiences.
Stay ahead of design trends, emerging tools, and cultural moments that can inspire fresh creative.
Support junior designers through feedback and collaboration when needed.
What You’ll Bring:
5–8 years of design or art direction experience in an agency or brand environment.
A strong portfolio showing conceptually driven, social-first work.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Figma.
Ability to balance speed and polish — knowing what’s “good enough to post” vs. what needs to shine.
Excellent eye for layout, typography, and storytelling.
Confident communicator who can present ideas clearly and take feedback well.
Who You Are:
You’re a hands-on creative who moves easily between idea and execution. You know social inside out - what stops the scroll, what sparks conversation, and how to make brands feel human online. You think fast, design smart, and aren’t afraid to get into the details yourself. You care about craft, timing, and making things that actually connect.
Bonus Points For:
Hands-on video editing or animation skills.
