Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Set Designer to join our dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual arts and theater, with the ability to conceptualize and create engaging set designs that enhance the storytelling experience. This role requires proficiency in various design software and hands-on skills in carpentry, painting, and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with directors and production teams to develop set designs that align with the vision of the project.
• Create detailed sketches and digital models using software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate construction of set elements.
• Implement color theory principles to select appropriate palettes for sets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in set design or a related field within theater or production design.
• Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of color theory and its application in visual arts.
• Knowledge of lighting design principles is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $23.94 - $28.83 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
