Offer:

Experience dependent, between R40 000 and R50 000 per month

Please note: this role is a consultant retainer role, paid monthly, so there are no benefits, sick days, or holidays included in the remuneration structure.

The Role:

We’re looking for a creative, detail-driven
Senior Squarespace Web Designer
to join our client’s remote team. You’ll combine visual design expertise with technical proficiency to create intuitive, on-brand Squarespace websites. The role involves close collaboration with both clients and internal teams to turn ideas into polished digital experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

·      5+ years of hands-on Squarespace web design experience (agency or freelance).

·      Degree/Diploma in Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).

·      Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Figma or Sketch.

·      Portfolio showcasing aesthetic excellence and user-centered design thinking.

·      Working understanding of HTML, CSS, and web standards (no coding required).

·      Experience designing for responsiveness across devices.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Design modern, responsive Squarespace websites aligned to client goals and brand identity.

·      Create wireframes, mockups, and final design assets using Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.

·      Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, map user journeys, and meet deadlines.

·      Design custom graphics, icons, and visual assets for each project.

·      Apply UX best practices to enhance usability and engagement.

·      Engage directly with clients to present concepts and manage revisions.

·      Support development of design systems, style guides, and reusable components.

·      Maintain project organization in tools like Asana, Notion, or Trello.

·      Stay current with design trends, Squarespace features, and web standards

Desirable Extras:

·      Understanding of SEO principles for on-page design.

·      Experience designing eCommerce sites or integrating third-party tools in Squarespace.

·      Familiarity with workflow platforms (ClickUp, Calendly, Zoom, Slack).

·      Animation or motion graphics capability.
