Principal Product Designer (UX - Observability)

As a Product Designer with deep UX expertise and proven experience designing observability-focused software products, you’ll shape how customers understand model behaviour, spot issues, take corrective action, and continuously improve system performance and safety.

Your work will define how engineers, data scientists, and risk teams:

  • Detect drift, hallucination, bias, failure modes
  • Understand why the model did what it did
  • Measure quality, performance, trust and cost
  • Tune, evaluate and govern AI systems at scale

What you’ll do

  • Own the UX for observability workflows end-to-end, from discovery to shipped product.
  • Turn complex telemetry (traces, evaluations, embeddings, costs, latency, hallucination metrics) into simple, actionable interfaces.
  • Collaborate tightly with Product & Engineering to define problem statements, workflows, IA, UX flows, and prototypes.
  • Run continuous product discovery: user interviews, journey mapping, usability testing.
  • Establish clarity and usability in large-scale data views, dashboards, comparison tooling, and debugging flows.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure design intent is preserved from concept through implementation.
  • Help evolve our design system as we scale new features and modules.

Requirements

  • Significant experience designing observability, monitoring, data analytics, developer tools, or telemetry products.
  • Experience designing product experiences for GenAI or Machine Learning workflows (evaluation, RAG pipelines, inference monitoring, annotation, or model lifecycle tools)
  • Strong ability to simplify complex technical and data-heavy interfaces.
  • Comfortable working in highly technical problem spaces alongside engineers.
  • Ability to articulate design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audidencies.
  • Deep proficiency with Figma or equivalent collaborative design tooling.
  • Experience planning and running research sessions with real uses.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates UX thinking, interaction design, and workflow depth, not just UI.

Nice to have (not required, but beneficial

  • Familiarity with embeddings, RAG architecture, eval frameworks, model telemetry or LLMOps workflows.
  • Experience designing B2B platform or infrastructure products.
  • Understanding of safety, governance, or compliance requirements for AI systems.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote, work from home environment
  • Employee Share Option plan
  • Flexible working hours
  • Paid Time-Off
  • Periodic in-person offsites globally (travel permitting)
  • Continued education support
  • Advancement opportunity
