Role Overview
Contract Type: Part-time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover) Freelance only
Working Hours: Part-time (hours and days to be agreed) Flexible working available
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Graphic Designer to provide maternity cover on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for producing high-quality design artwork for both print and digital media, working across multiple briefs simultaneously, and supporting the wider events and marketing teams with design-led solutions. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys variety, works well independently, and is confident switching between tasks as priorities evolve.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Production
- Design and produce creative artwork for print and digital materials, including:
- Event flyers and programmes, awards collateral and branding assets, marketing and promotional materials, digital graphics for websites, email campaigns, and social media, presentation decks and templates
- Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines while adapting creatively across different awards and campaigns
- Prepare print-ready files to specification and manage artwork amends efficiently
Print & Supplier Liaison
- Liaise directly with printers and external suppliers
- Manage print specifications, proofing, and production timelines
- Ensure accuracy, quality control, and on-time delivery of printed materials
Collaboration & Workflow
- Work closely with internal teams to interpret briefs and translate requirements into effective design solutions
- Manage multiple design tasks per day, often across different awards programmes
- Prioritise workloads and adapt quickly to changing deadlines and business needs
- Use project management platforms (e.g. Monday.com) to track tasks, updates, and deadlines
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a graphic design role, ideally within events, marketing, or communications
- Strong working knowledge of: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience designing for both print and digital formats
- Confidence preparing artwork for print production and liaising with printers
- Ability to manage multiple briefs simultaneously and work at pace
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Desirable
- Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com
- Familiarity with brand-led design across multiple campaigns
- Experience supporting live events or awards programmes
