Responsibilities and more:

We are seeking a Motion Designer to bring an enterprise design system to life through purposeful motion, animation, and interaction design. This role focuses on defining a scalable motion language that clarifies hierarchy, guides user attention, and creates consistency across digital experiences. You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and system architects to translate creative intent into production-ready animations that enhance usability and elevate the brand across platforms.

You Will:

* Define and evolve a motion design language that enhances clarity, consistency, and usability across web and mobile applications.

* Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, and system architects to determine how components move, behave, and interact.

* Design and prototype micro-interactions, transitions, and animated components that support accessibility and reduce friction for users.

* Translate motion concepts into production-ready assets using tools such as After Effects, Lottie, Figma, and Principle.

* Create motion guidelines and documentation that support adoption across design and development teams.

* Support implementation by partnering with engineering teams and understanding the technical constraints of CSS, JavaScript, and React-based animation systems.

* Contribute to motion requirements and architectural considerations for components within the design system.

* Stay current on emerging tools, workflows, and motion technologies to continually improve craft quality and efficiency.

* Advocate for the role of motion in strengthening user comprehension, emotional connection, and overall product cohesion.

You Have:

* Expertise in motion design, animation, and interactive UI elements.

* Deep understanding of design systems, micro-interactions, motion principles, timing, easing, anticipation, and choreography.

* Proficiency with After Effects, Lottie, Figma, Principle, or similar motion and prototyping tools.

* Familiarity with front-end animation implementation using CSS transitions, JavaScript, and React animation libraries.

* Experience contributing to or building motion components within a design system for enterprise-level or global-scale products.

* A strong portfolio demonstrating scalable, purposeful motion for digital interfaces.

* The ability to translate complex motion concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.

* Understanding of accessibility and reduced-motion best practices.

* Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail.

* Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Animation, Interaction Design, or a related field.

* Five or more years of experience in motion design, UI animation, or interactive design.

Logistics:

* Start Date/Duration: Starting ASAP for a one-year contract and likely extended.

* Hours/Week: 40 hours/week.

* Onsite/Offsite: Remote working roughly ET or CT hours (*Must be based in the US).

* Laptop/Software Requirements: Client-provided laptop and software.

* Background Check: Yes.

* Salary/Rate: $60–$70/hour DOE.
