Job Title: Senior MEP Designer / MEP Engineer (Mechanical + Electrical + Plumbing) Schedule: Part-Time, As-Needed (8–25 hours/month depending on workload) Compensation: Hourly – premium rate for all-three disciplines

Clayborn Engineering is seeking a single highly experienced MEP professional capable of reviewing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings for small commercial TI projects and residential designs.

This position requires deep, multi-discipline experience and the ability to identify conflicts, compliance issues, and coordination problems across all three trades. Accuracy is critical. We cannot afford errors.

Responsibilities

• Review HVAC, electrical, and plumbing plans together for coordination
• Identify code issues (IMC, NEC, UPC/IPC, IBC/IRC)
• Provide clear correction notes across all disciplines
• Ensure system integration (equipment power requirements, ventilation, etc.)
• Identify coordination issues between trades before submittal
• Optional: develop office standards/checklists for MEP QC
• Other duties may be assigned based on operational needs

Requirements

• Minimum 15–20+ years MEP design experience
• Ability to review and correct all three (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
• U.S.-based
• PE preferred (any of the three disciplines)
• Strong understanding of small commercial and residential TI work
• Able to provide clear markups (PDF or CAD review)
