Lead UI/UX Designer

Creston Games is an independent game studio dedicated to crafting unique multiplayer experiences that bring players together.
We’re currently working on a cooking-themed, semi-open world multiplayer game, built with care to offer players rich co-op gameplay and dynamic environments. Note: This is a revenue share position; compensation will be based on revenue sharing, rather than an upfront salary.
Job Description:As the Lead UI/UX Designer, you’ll take ownership of the game’s overall user experience and interface design. You’ll set the creative direction for UI/UX, ensure consistency across all systems, and guide other team members in achieving an intuitive, player-friendly experience.
Beyond designing menus, HUDs, and onboarding systems, you’ll act as the bridge between design, art, and engineering to make sure UI feels seamless, accessible, and aligned with the game’s stylized art direction.
Key Responsibilities:Define the overall UI/UX vision and maintain consistency across the project.Design and implement core UI elements such as HUDs, inventories, menus, and tutorials.Create wireframes, prototypes, and style guides to ensure clarity and usability.Collaborate with Designers, Artists, and Developers to implement functional and optimized UI inside Unity.Conduct and oversee usability testing, iterate on designs based on feedback.Lead and mentor junior/mid-level designers if needed, fostering a strong design culture.Ensure UI/UX scales smoothly across PC, Console, Switch, and Mobile platforms.
Qualifications:Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with at least one shipped game (indie or professional).Strong portfolio showcasing UI systems, mockups, and interaction design.Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).Solid understanding of Unity UI systems (Canvas, TextMesh Pro, Animations, Prefabs).Strong leadership and communication skills to drive alignment across departments.Deep knowledge of usability, accessibility, and player experience principles.
Nice To Have:Previous experience as a Lead or Senior UI/UX Designer.Experience designing for multiplayer or co-op games.Familiarity with stylized game art directions.Motion graphics / UI animation skills.Prior experience in remote teams.
