Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Website Designer/Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing client websites. You will work closely with our SEO and marketing teams to ensure our clients' websites are fast, secure, user-friendly, and built to drive online orders and in-store visits.
Compensation Structure: Base Salary ($45,000-$55,000)This position can be remote in all states (excluding MA and CA).
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Utilize Figma to create engaging site designs and mock-ups. Build, update, and migrate websites primarily using WordPress and the Elementor builder. You will also occasionally work with other platforms such as Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, and Duda.
- Website Maintenance & Security: Provide ongoing support for plugin updates, site security, and hosting management. Manage hosting environments and CDNs, including Kinsta and Cloudflare.
- Performance & UX/UI Enhancements: Improve site speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall technical performance. Update layouts and calls-to-action (CTAs) to maximize online conversions and enhance the user experience.
- Troubleshooting & Site Health: Proactively identify and fix broken links, 404 pages, redirect chains, and indexing issues to maintain optimal site health.
- eCommerce & Menu Integration: Optimize menu structures and pathways for eCommerce performance. Support the rollout and optimization of online ordering systems, such as integrating Dutchie iframes and optimizing product titles and descriptions.
- SEO Implementation: Collaborate with the SEO team to build and optimize location pages, category pages, and brand pages. Implement strong on-page SEO structures, schema markup, and metadata.
- Analytics Configuration: Assist in the setup and integration of Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google Search Console for granular tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in web design and development.
- CMS Proficiency: Strong experience with WordPress and page builders, specifically Elementor. Familiarity with Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, and Duda is highly preferred.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in using Figma for creating website mock-ups, wireframes, and UI designs.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of web hosting environments, DNS management, and CDNs (e.g., Kinsta, Cloudflare).
- SEO Knowledge: Basic understanding of technical SEO best practices, on-page optimization, schema markup, and metadata.
- Analytics: Familiarity with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
- Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve site performance and indexing issues.
- Industry Interest: An interest in the cannabis industry and a willingness to learn about dispensary-specific eCommerce platforms (e.g., Dutchie, Springbig).
