The Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented and imaginative Junior Python Engineer – AI Agent Task Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about designing creative and challenging terminal-based tasks for AI agents, combining strong Python skills with a flair for storytelling and problem design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and code creative tasks that AI agents can solve through a terminal interface.
• Write clear, imaginative challenges -like scripting workflows, data processing tasks,systems, or setting up services - that agents can tackle using public tools (web search, Python libraries, CLI, etc.).
• Leverage the open-source Terminal‑Bench benchmark (tbench.ai) for inspiration and tooling.
• Work with Python scripts and shell environments to define task instructions, orchestration logic, and automated success tests.
• Create and configure standalone Docker environments, including necessary prerequisites, dependencies, and runtime conditions for consistent task execution.
• Collaborate with the AI research and engineering team to fine-tune task difficulty, creativity, and feedback quality.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related Science field.
• Solid hands-on experience writing Python.
• Familiarity with prompting techniques and large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude).
• Experience or interest in, with agent benchmarks like Terminal‑Bench.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and experience with containerization tools like Docker.
• Skilled in integrating coding-focused LLMs (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Cursor) into daily workflows to enhance productivity and problem-solving.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Linux systems, WSL, and general systems administration knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with data engineering tools (e.g., dbt) and familiarity with DevOps tools will be considered a strong plus.
• A mindset that blends technical thinking with creative problem design, aiming to craft tasks that are fun, engaging, and solvable by AI.
