Position Overview:

We’re offering an unpaid internship for a Marketing Graphics Design Intern to support Deca Defense’s branding, outreach, and technical marketing materials. This role is for someone with a strong technical design skillset, capable of translating complex defense and AI concepts into clear, visually compelling assets.

The ideal candidate understands design tools, digital media, and branding fundamentals. You’ll get hands-on experience creating assets that directly shape how our company is perceived by Defense OEMs, the DoD, and technical audiences.

Key Learning Opportunities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing graphics, infographics, and technical diagrams for use in presentations, reports, and outreach campaigns.
  • Create digital assets for web, social media, and technical documentation with a consistent brand identity.
  • Work with engineers to translate complex AI/FPGA/defense concepts into simple, compelling visuals.
  • Gain practical experience in visual storytelling tailored to technical and defense audiences.
  • Learn to apply design principles to: proposals, pitch decks, and DoD-facing reports.
  • Participate in the creation of design systems, templates, and asset libraries for future use.
  • Explore how design integrates with strategic marketing in a defense-focused, mission-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Learning Objectives:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign.
  • Familiarity with creating vector graphics, scalable assets, and brand-consistent templates.
  • Ability to handle technical diagrams and data visualizations with accuracy.
  • Basic motion graphics or video editing (After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve) is a plus.
  • Interest in defense, aerospace, or technology branding is a strong differentiator.
