What You’ll Be Doing in This Role:
J.D. Power's New Product Development organization seeks an Intermediate Product Designer to research and design our customer-facing digital platform and associated products/features. You'll distill complex data and analytics workflows into intuitive, insightful experiences that solve mission-critical problems in the domains we operate in.
Lead and own design initiatives from concept development (research, ideation, sketching, high fidelity design) through commercializationServe as the design "face" of NPD projects, representing design excellence across all touchpoints while effectively managing and presenting to working teams and senior leadership alike, effectivelyCreate and communicate strategic design concepts through sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity designsConduct user research and usability testing to uncover explicit and implicit user needsTranslate research insights into delightful, utility-focused experiencesWork effectively in Agile team/squad interactions and client-facing meetingsPartner with cross-functional team members and negotiate priorities when neededProvide informed project estimates and track design changesEnsure design excellence through comprehensive design QADeliver designs that meet deadlines while maintaining high standards
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field3-5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or related fieldStrong background in user-centered design principles and methodologiesProficiency in User Testing, Journey Mapping, and User PersonasExperience with Lean, Design Thinking, and Agile delivery practicesAbility to translate user research into actionable design solutionsHave extensive knowledge in code-based design systemsStrong design fundamentals, typography skills and attention to detailExceptional communication skills including presenting confidently and selling ideas to senior and executive leadership and customers alikeAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently
Technical Skills (must Have)
Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology for web-based applicationsAdvanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe CC Suite, etc.)Experience designing complex data visualizations and interfacesExperience with AI workflows and AI-assisted design processes (e.g. Builder, Replit, VS Code, etc.)Intermediate skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
