Role Description
Working closely with the Country Managers for Australia and New Zealand and with support from the London-based HQ, the Group Travel Designer is an experienced, knowledgeable itinerary designer, who creates touring programmes across Europe and the UK on a broad range of themes for a varied Australian / New Zealand-based clientele.
This fully remote position - which can be based in Australia (preferably AEST or ACST time zone) or New Zealand - is ideal for an initiative-taking, detail-oriented, and creative thinker with excellent communication and critical thinking skills who have similar past experience in the sector. While a fully remote position, an initial in-person training block with the Country Manager(s) would be required upon starting the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, design and price innovative and original custom-made tours across Europe for special interest groups of all sizes, using regional knowledge and travel industry expertise, and recommending suitable alternatives or informed improvements to the original specification if required.
- Handle complex customer situations, resolve complaints and provide effective solutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Keep communication clear, professional, and effective within your own and other departments, working co-operatively with other departments to ensure a supportive working environment across the company.
- Attend travel shows or trade events and visit client offices throughout the year if required.
Person Profile
- Demonstrated experience in a client‑facing travel industry role, with a solid understanding of tour operator mechanics and the Australian and / or New Zealand outbound travel market.
- Strong knowledge of European geography, major cities, and cultural highlights, with a genuine enthusiasm for the region.
- Results‑oriented, with a proven ability to work towards and achieve targets.
- Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable, with the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team, offering support where needed.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
- High attention to detail, with strong problem‑solving skills and the judgement to escalate issues appropriately.
- Effective communicator who is comfortable engaging in open and constructive dialogue across departments to reach shared solutions.
