Help Defend Democracy Through Visual Storytelling
Our Democracy Collective is a network of journalists, filmmakers, researchers, and creatives working to expose corruption, challenge disinformation, and defend democratic institutions through truth-driven storytelling.
We produce written reporting, investigative videos, and digital media covering local, national, and global issuesβfrom elections and corruption to environmental policy, education, and public protests.
We are looking for a
Volunteer Graphic Designer
who wants to use visual communication to support investigative journalism and public accountability.
What You'll Do
π¨ Create simple visual assets that support our journalism and social media distribution, including:
- YouTube thumbnails
- Social media graphics and post images
- Simple visual templates used across platforms
π§ Work with our editorial and social media teams to ensure visuals align with the tone and integrity of our reporting.
π Follow and assist in the design of templates and visual guidelines designed to keep our content clear, consistent, and credible.
What You Need
β Interest in journalism, politics, or civic issues
β A desire to support independent reporting and democratic accountability
β Willingness to learn and collaborate with a remote team
β A flexible schedule to contribute when available
β Familiarity with tools such as
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Canva/Figma
(all skill levels welcome)
