As a Brand/Graphic Designer, you must love to push new ideas, be passionate about design and get excited about working on diverse projects with extremely talented creative leaders and teams. You will leverage your passion and expertise as a Brand/Graphic Designer to drive the design of our project forward and enhance the human experience of the spaces and structures we design.
As part of the Brand team, your role will be both hands-on – injecting progressive, strategic design-thinking into the work - as well as higher level oversight to guide the approach and execution as you partner with Gensler practice areas including architecture, interiors, brand, digital, and consulting to ensure design is thoughtfully considered and integrated within the overall design vision.
You should be ready to present work to client stakeholders and represent our firm’s culture & principles. Additionally, you will provide direction and leadership to junior staff working on their project teams, scope design phases of projects accurately and efficiently, and attend pitches and industry events as required.
What You Will Do
- Interpret client briefs and translate them into strategic, storytelling-driven design solutions that elevate brand identity.
- Transform concepts into visually engaging narratives across multiple mediums, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and project objectives.
- Create and refine brand assets including logos, typography, color palettes, and comprehensive brand guidelines.
- Facilitate and lead design conversations for brand assignments, partnering closely with strategy, architecture, and interior teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Prepare and present design concepts and creative materials through compelling stories and well-crafted presentations.
- Contribute to RFP responses, account growth initiatives, and advancement of the brand practice area.
- Stay ahead of design trends, tools, and best practices to bring fresh, innovative ideas to projects.
- Develop, motivate, and mentor junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Work collaboratively with the team to optimize performance through design iterations and research.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication or related field
- Minimum 4 years’ professional experience in environmental graphic design, print/digital design, or similar studio experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills that work well in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills are imperative to juggle multiple tasks, clients and resources
- Advanced storytelling and conceptual thinking skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for client engagement.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and MS Office and proficiency in SketchUp or other 3D modelling programs a plus
- Working knowledge of motion graphics software, digital video editing, or other skills related to designing for and creating dynamic content a plus
- Knowledge in design principles required.
