About the Opportunity


We are hiring 2–3 Freelance Knitwear Designers to collaborate with one of China’s top 10 womenswear groups — a publicly listed high-end fashion company known for its refined, urban, feminine, and sophisticated aesthetic.

This is a part-time / freelance role ideal for designers based in France, Italy, or across Europe, with remote work as the primary mode of collaboration.

✨ What You Will Do


✔ Design knitwear collections across tops, dresses, outerwear, and capsule looks

✔ Create moodboards, concept directions, silhouettes, stitches, yarn proposals

✔ Produce complete tech packs and ensure clear communication with sample rooms

✔ Lead prototype development:

 • Coordinate with manufacturers and sample rooms

 • Review samples, provide corrections, ensure fit & construction quality

 • Oversee timelines and production milestones

✔ Collaborate with merchandising, pattern-making, and product development teams

✔ Ensure the collection reflects a modern, elegant, urban womenswear DNA

✨ Requirements


🔸 Minimum 5 years of independent knitwear design experience

🔸 Deep expertise in yarns, gauges, stitches, structures, and knitwear engineering

🔸 Ability to design for a sophisticated, feminine, urban consumer

🔸 Strong creativity, attention to detail, and trend sensitivity

🔸 English required; French or Italian is a plus

🔸 Experience with Asian/Chinese markets is advantageous

🔸 Willingness to travel to China during prototype stages

 • 1–2 short trips, each 4–6 days (all costs covered by client)
