Magazine

is seeking a freelance Graphic Designer who can execute quickly to join an already established team.

We produce a quality 80- page quarterly print magazine dedicated to the craft and community of bourbon and whiskey. Our goal is to simply deliver a publication that blends compelling writing with visual storytelling: every single issue. 

If you thrive in a fast-paced editorial environment, understand the process of print production, and care as much about well-designed pages as you do about deadlines, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Develop cohesive, elevated designs across an 80-page print magazine ( 4 issues per year)
• Place and properly format ads within the magazine layout
• Convert print files for digital media usage
• Update and maintain templated graphics— while also improving them
• Collaborate closely with the Editor
• Execute additional design-related tasks as assigned



Requirements:

• 2–3+ years of professional graphic design experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating editorial and print design excellence
• Proficiency on Mac OSX
• Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
• Openness to feedback and collaborative creative process
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Attention to detail (this is non-negotiable)
• Knowledge of Dropbox and Insite
• Clear, professional communication skills
• Familiarity with pre-press, digital optimization, and asset management best practices
• Interest in bourbon/whiskey culture is a strong plus
