As our
Founding Product Designer
, you’ll own the design strategy and execution across both mobile and web. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer teams to make data-heavy, complex workflows feel simple, elegant, and intuitive. This is a
high-autonomy role
where your design decisions will directly shape user outcomes — and the future of a category-defining platform.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead design across both student-facing and institution-facing products
- Define and scale a unified design system from scratch
- Translate complexity into clarity with thoughtful UX and intuitive flows
- Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interactions
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate decisions
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams
- Influence product direction and contribute to roadmap strategy
- Help shape a high-performing, design-first culture
What We’re Looking For:
- 6+ years of experience in product design (startup or early-stage experience preferred)
- Strong UX design skills across both mobile and complex web apps
- Hands-on Figma experience: wireframes, prototypes, component systems
- Ability to make complex, data-rich workflows feel elegant and intuitive
- Comfortable owning design strategy, UI direction, and user research
- A clear communicator who can align stakeholders and present designs with confidence
- Excited to be the first design hire — a builder who thrives in ambiguity and fast-moving environments
