REKT Productions is a Melbourne-based production company specialising in esports broadcasts, corporate livestreams, podcasts, and premium digital content. We work with global brands, game publishers, and businesses to create high-quality productions and storytelling.
As we expand our creative services, we are building a dedicated explainer video and motion design capability to deliver animated videos for both our own brand and our clients.
We are looking for a Motion Designer / Explainer Video Animator who can bring ideas to life using modern animation techniques.
Role Overview:
The Motion Designer will be responsible for creating high-quality explainer videos and animated marketing content that communicate ideas clearly and professionally.
This role will focus on producing animations using a mix of:
- 2D / 2.5D animation
- Live-action animation overlays
- Kinetic typography
You will work closely with our team to develop visual storytelling that explains services, products, and processes for businesses across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Explainer Video Production
- Create animated explainer videos for REKT Productions and external clients
- Interpret scripts and briefs into clear visual storytelling
- Storyboard animation concepts
- Produce polished motion graphics videos for marketing and advertising
Motion Graphics & Animation
Develop animations using three core styles:
2D / 2.5D Motion Design
- Character animation
- Animated icons and diagrams
- Layered compositions and parallax environments
Live-Action + Animation
- Overlay motion graphics onto real footage
- Animate UI elements, diagrams, and information on top of live video
- Combine footage and animation into cohesive visuals
Kinetic Typography
- Animate text to emphasise key messages
- Create dynamic titles and transitions
- Build text-driven storytelling sequences
Creative Development
- Work with producers and marketing teams to interpret creative briefs
- Develop visual styles and animation systems
- Ensure brand consistency across projects
Asset Creation & Design
- Design vector assets for animation
- Create icons, UI elements, and graphic components
- Build reusable animation templates
Required Skills
- Strong portfolio of motion graphics or explainer videos
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of animation principles
- Ability to storyboard and visualise concepts
- Experience combining live footage with motion graphics
Nice to Have
- Experience producing SaaS or corporate explainer videos
- Experience with Cinema4D or Blender
- Knowledge of UI animation
- Sound design and motion timing skills
