Designer for UK Florists

We make florist websites and the candidate would work alongside Alisha, also a freelance designer, that assists new florists by outlining the service and then creating and designing their website.

Who we are:

We've been operating for 14 years and we have 2 designers, 4 developers and myself, the director. We are all self employed and work together as a close team.

The customers benefit from high quality, friendly customer service, particularly for responsiveness, general help and when they request new features.

This is for a long term role, so think 2+ years with perks including:

- Growing with the business

- Higher pay over time

- For majority of work (e.g. artwork), you can do it anytime

In general, we work between 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (UK time). So if you are usually at your desk between this time, then that's ideal because any work that does need doing, such as design, an email, a scheduled phone call, will be possible. Most florists operate in this time also, so they can respond timely.

The hours can range from 1 to 3 hours per day.

To give an insight into the breakdown of work:

50% building new sites/onboarding

20% onboarding (calls, emails, replying to signups)

13% responding to support tickets

7% social media content and production

The rest includes, bug reporting to devs, SEO checks.

This may change depending on what you prefer and how the business may change for efficiency.

The hours are flexible depending on the task. For example, calling is more ideal between 10am to 4pm mon-fri due to florist working hours, whereas emailing, or designing the website can be done anytime.

Example of hours:

43 hours per month (2 hours per day 17/hour) at £730.

Pay can be from £14 to £17 per hour or more (equivalent of £28,000 - £33,000/year) depending on experience.

Work includes:

- Communicating with new florists predominantly by email (occasional phone), outlining our services, offering a 10-15 min tour of the platform (training is provided).

  • Communicating with them and creating their website and design based upon their existing logo/branding (or designing a new one if they don't have one).

  • Adding content (excluding products) such as text, images to their homepage, service pages (wedding, funeral, corporate).

  • Providing basic assistance in how to use the platform, but any questions they have can be deferred to Amy or one of our team members.

  • Setting up their 3 main keywords for SEO and adding delivery areas.

  • Setting the website live by attaching to their domain.

There are a variety of additional roles available, such as social media posting to promote the service.

Skills required:

  • Able to learn a new platform
  • Competent in graphic design
  • Reliable
  • The team uses Pumble for communication
  • Patient and thoughtful for new customers
  • Able to learn the basics of SEO
  • Good telephone skills

Perks:

- For the majority, you set your own hours

- No sales involved

- Big opportunities as we grow larger as a team, including higher pay per hour

- Friendly, small, reliable and helpful team

- The platform is particularly impressive, and so new customers enjoy using it

So if this suits you, let me know and we can discuss it.

Thank you.
