We are seeking a contract Instructional Designer with background First Aid to help create highly customized, mind-blowing learning experiences for our client. Using evidenced-based adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, design and build their First Aid Courses both in ILT and eLearning (most likely in Storyline). What You’ll Do:• Lead needs analyses to uncover business challenges, performance gaps, and learner needs• Translate insights into clearly defined performance and learning objectives• Consult with key business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs).• Propose innovative learning solutions that are both practical and performance-driven• Design Needs Analysis and Design Recommendation presentations (in PowerPoint) to present to high level executive teams• Facilitate alignment across business units and SMEs while keeping learners at the center• Apply modern learning design strategies—including AI-enhanced tools—to elevate engagement and outcomes
Skills & Experience Requirements:• Background in: First Aid, CPR & AED, Basic Life Support, Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED, Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogens • Degree in Instructional Technologies, Education, Organizational Development, or equivalent professional experience• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia) and working within LMS environments.• Exceptional knowledge of adult learning principles, best practices, and current trends• 5+ years’ experience in hybrid learning design and development for large corporate clients• Exceptional communication and presentation skills—you’re as comfortable with business leaders as you are with SMEs• Strategic mindset with the ability to quickly assess challenges and recommend effective learning solutions• Experience in medical or healthcare highly recommended
Start: Beginning of Oct, 2025
Duration: 6-12 months anticipated.
Hours: Range from 15 to 30 hours per week depending on the deliverables. Because this is project-based work, billable hours will vary based on assignment of work and contractor availability. Working hours will be flexible.
Location: 100% virtual.
The pay range is $70 to $80 per hour. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and work location.
